Harvest Moon : Seeds Of Memories Guide, Tips, Trick

Hello! It's been a while (*´ー`) I'm quite a Harvest Moon lover so I decided to buy HM : Seeds of Memories (After thinking and fighting with myself for 48 days). At first, I thought that this game can be completed in a short time, but as I play longer, I found more things to unlock and I think this game is worth buying (人´∀`) especially because the game is easily accessible (played through our phone)

So the main goal of this game is to Revive the Sprite Tree, by making memories within the game. There are 150 memories to make. To unlock them all, you have to do many things (every feature in this game) mostly by interacting and making friends with the Villagers (give them their favourite gifts).
Note : In this game, making money is done very easily with mining. planting crops won't give you much money, but you still need to do it anyway to unlock the memories.

First thing to do when you play the game is :
1. Talk to every villager to get all the equipments
2. Upgrade your Hoe to Silver Hoe
3. Get a chicken
You can pick some flowers, fruits, bamboo shoot etc at the mountain and sell them for quite amount of money. You may start planting some crops too if you have spare time, but I suggest you focus on mining at first because you have many things to buy.

Mining Guide (Easy Money)
After getting the hammer, you can start mining right away. Stop working if you have a half heart bar left, you dont want to pass out, it's a huge disadvantage. You can go out and take a bath at the hot spring right below the mine at first. (After you have the boiled/fried egg recipe, you can just eat it and get easy additional 3 hearts)
Tips :
- Before start digging the mine, you have to decide your objective on this run. Is it to find a specific ore? What ore is it? At what floor is that ore available? Do I bring enough food to get to that level? For example, if you only need Gold Ore, as Gold Ore is available from level 11, you just focus on searching for the stairs and do not waste your energy on hammering the ores BEFORE level 11. Therefore, after you reach level 11, you still have much stamina to find Gold Ores.
- To find the next stairs, do not hammer the ores first because the stairs is NEVER at the spot where the ores are. After you find the stairs, then you can start hammering. This way, you have bigger chance to find the stairs.
- One more trick, you can easily save much energy by saving at every level, dig to find the stairs, after you know where the stairs is you can load the save file and just dig in that spot. (I reached the 100th floor without using this method though.. Too lazy to save and load so frequently haha)

Step by Step Guide :
1. When you want to upgrade the Hoe, you need to focus on getting Silver Ore. If I'm not mistaken, Silver Ore is available since the first floor, so you can start hammering right away. Take it to Brutus and he will make it directly (unlike HM: Back to nature PS where we need to wait 3 days). Yay! Now you got the Silver Hoe, you can till 3 squares of land at once with the same stamina used. This means you can find the stairs in the mine easier.

2. With the Silver Hoe, you can dig to floor 11 easily (without hammering any stones before!) then start hammering from level 11 onwards to find Gold Ores. You can still find Silver Ore here, to upgrade your other equipments (Watering can, hammer, axe). You may want to bring some food or vegetable to get more gold ores in one run (If you cant make boiled/fried egg yet, just bring the harvested cabbage from your farm.. so sad.. (・_;))

3. With the Gold Hoe, now you can till 6 squares of land at once, you can repeat method #2 (start hammering from level 11 onwards) and get about 1000G each floor. After level 16, you can get about 2500-3000G each floor. Then you should have enough money to buy THE SHEEP. Once again, SHEEP first, dont buy the cow yet. (Explanation : You need 20 Wools to upgrade to the third house. 1 sheep produce wool once every 3 days. If you have only 1 sheep, you need at least 2 months to get enough Wools. Longer if the sheep accidentally produce Great Wool or better Wool, so after that you may want to impregnate the Sheep or just buy a new Sheep).

4. The Important thing is, after you have the Gold Hoe, you can obtain easy money by selling Gold Ores, Silver Ores, Mystrile Ores, Adamantite Ore, Orichalcum Ore etc. You can now upgrade other tools, buy sheep, more sheep, maybe cow, upgrade your house and barn. Now you have a better life (人´∀`) and start doing whatever you want. (Giving gifts to villagers, planting various vegetables and flowers)

5. After upgrading your house for the first time, you can now store things in your refrigerator and cabinet. You may be shocked by the price of the second upgrade to your house. Yes, you need 400.000G plus some other ores as the ingredient. You will also need 20 wools, and by now you should already have some in your inventory. Don't worry, Gold Hoe + Fried Eggs = Easy Money, i even had more than 2 million when upgrading the house for the second time. I recommend you bring at least 20 fried eggs or better quality fried eggs in your bag. You may now focus on getting to level 36 (Where the stones are blue now) and start hammering from level 36 onwards. There are precious jewels here which is much more expensive than orichalcum etc, or start from level 51, up to you. don't forget to pay Brutus to refine the jewels to make the jewels twice as expensive. If you have enough fried eggs, and enough DETERMINATION, you may also get to the 100th level! It's worth the effort, because you will get the 6th heart/stamina (人´∀`)
Now you have the big, luxury house, you can now focus more on the storyline with the villagers. You can also get married and have child with this house (have to buy crib from Brutus though).

Crops Guide
- Like the recent Harvest Moons, you can plant ANY crops at ANY season (Unlike HM:BtN PS1 where you can only plant specific crops on specific season). But if you plant the crop on its proper season, you will have a bigger chance to harvest a better quality crop. However, there are some variant of crops that can only be obtained if you plant it on other season. Example : Potato is better planted at Fall to get better quality Potato, but if you plant it on Winter, you may harvest "Purple Potato" which you can't obtain if you plant it on Fall.
So, you still need to plant them even if it is not the proper season to unlock them all!

- You can have a bigger chance to obtain better quality crops by using a fertilizer on them, bought from the flower shop. The more you use, the bigger the chance. You can also obtain the fertilizer for free by using the poo of your animals (compost).  *I find my chicken poo more than my cows/sheeps xD

Vegetables:
Spring : Cabbage, Celery, Onion, Strawberry
Summer : Tomato, Corn, Green Pepper, Wheat
Fall : Hot Pepper, Potato, Carrot, Pumpkin
Winter : Spinach, Brocolli

Flowers:
Spring : Marguerite, Tulip, Pink Rose
Summer : Sunflower, Pink Dahlia, Red Rose
Fall : Cosmos, Carnation,
Winter : Viola, Pink and other Pansy, Blue Rose
(Actually I'm not quite sure about the roses)

Fishing Guide
You obtain the fishing rod from Gilbert. You can fish in front of Gilbert's tent or at the lake in your farm. I find Fall is the best season to fish.
- You can win the Fishing Contest in the first year, by fishing in your farm (the southern lake which is wider). Use the bait to get better fish!

  4. Is there an option for dwarfs watering the plants? In the old Harvest Moon (PC version), you can ask help from dwarves to put seeds, water your plants and harvest them. Is there something like that here in HM Seeds of Memories?
